Michelle Fecteau, Executive Director

Michelle Fecteau was hired as the Executive Director of the AAUP-AFT in January 2007. She replaces Jan Thompson, who retired in December after 33 years in this position.

Michelle has worked as an Extension Program Coordinator at the university since 1996 conducting and coordinating labor education training for union leadership throughout the Midwest. Prior to her employment at Wayne, Michelle worked as a representative and organizer for various unions including the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (now UNITEHERE), and the Service Employees International Union.

She received her formal education from Michigan State University with degrees in Employment Relations and Political Science as well as a Masters in Labor and Industrial Relations.
